I know there arent a lot of sports lovers among us... but I AM!

This is basically so that if people have something say about a particular sporting event, they dont have to start a new topic each time.

For Example.

I am excited to be watching Butler VS Duke in the NCAA Basketball Championship... Im really hoping Butler get uo
but i know they dont as it is a replay... would have been a fairytale.

Oh and secondly UFC 112 is on this weekend in Abu Dhabi and Anderson Silva is fight who is a favourite of mine.

Boston needs to get their shit together, they are much better than a sub .500 team. I know the season just started and playing the Twins at home and the Yankees is a tough way to start the season, but come on guys you have the best rotation in all of baseball!

Mauer is batting .423 and with power, if his current play is any indication of his contract extension then the Twinks should be set up nice for a while. The guys an athlete, but a pretty good dude as well. I was supposed to go to Target field Monday to watch the Twins opener at their new baseball field against the red sox, but I could not find tickets. I had to settle for going down to Kansas City to watch the Royals play the Red Sox.

Wow, I forgot entirely about the fact that we had a sports forum.....

Yea man, I can't wait to hit target field. Looks pretty sweet.

I've never been more excited for an MMA fight than the upcoming bout between Urijah Faber and Jose Aldo. Arguably the two best featherweights in the world. I almost want to back Faber, because at this point, it would seem he is actually the underdog going into the fight.

So a bit of a round-up

UFC 112
Finally got around to watching it, and other than the Grove- Munoz fight, the rest were a bit disappointing.
Munoz gave a fantastic account of himself. Hughes simply overpowered and out struck Gracie, which wasnt
surprising in the least. Edgar, in a very dubious decision.... think back to the Hua V Machida fight... won the
title in a decision against Penn. Penn, while looking at times disinterested in fighting The Answer, whose pogo
like moves did not allow BJ to establish any sort of timing. This said, however, the judges appeared to make
a rash decision in awarding the title to Edgar. Its always said... in order to be the champion you must smash the
champion, and Edgar certainly did not do that. Finally, the showcase, with The Spider, Anderson Silva defending
his title against fellow Brazillian (but certainly not number 1 contender) Damien Meia. As Expected, Anderson,
torched Meia in the standup for the first two and a half rounds, busting his nose, and striking at will, mocking
and fighting with the ALI-like movements we have come to expect. However, as the match wore on, without
knockout in site, a strange, and incredibly disappointing fight evolved, with Silva defending and avoiding
any and all confrontation with Maia, frustrating not only the Ju-Jitsu specialist, but also the crowd, commentators,
Mr White...and myself. Needless to say, upon accepting his belt, Silva was meat with a loud and decisive
plethora of Jeers and Taunts from the crowd.

Chinese Grand Prix
A wet and exciting race for this years running of the Chinese F1 GP, with the Red Bull Tandum of Webber and Vettel
barricading the front row of the grid. The Sneaky Spaniard, Alonso however was having non of this, legally or otherwise,
and promptly jumped the start, flying around the two energy drinks on wheels, and into the lead. Needless to say he
was forced to serve a drive through penalty for his bold and poorly timed move. The constant drizzle, caused havoc with the
tires, too wet for slicks, but dry enough to burn up the intermediates. What is a driver to do i ask?
Well, Mr Button had the answer - While you all fuck around changing tires, Im just going to keep driving this car
around the track, no matter how fast or slow, and take myself to my second consecutive victory. And that is precisely what
he did. The ever-smooth driving style of the Brit, causing minimal tyre wear, and a checkered flag. His teammate Lewis drove frantically, pushing cars aside both on and off the track to storm home for a silver placed finish in his silver Mclaren. The always improving Rosberg in third, and those energy drinks- well back in the points.

Finally... THE NBA PLAYOFFS ARE HERE!
The playoffs are here and look a little something like this
EAST
CLEVELAND VS CHICAGO
ORLANDO VS CHARLOTTE
ATLANTA VS MILWAUKEE
BOSTON VS WADE (OR WADE AGAINST THE C'S)

WEST
LAKERS VS OKLAHOMA CITY
DENVER VS UTAH
BLAZERS VS SUNS
SPURS VS MAVS

Hard to see anyone in the west beating the Lakers, but i will still root for those young kids from OKC
The east is a bit more fun with Orlando capable of beating anyone... or nobody... the LEBRON show in search
of that elusive ring, and the ever improving Hawks having an easy first rounder against the Bogut-less Bucks.

Thats all from the Weedguru Sports Desk for now...

PS ... Nadal smashed Verdasco at the Monte Carlo Masters- His 36th-ish win in a row at the event... time for a new
challenge now Rafa... 17 titles at Monte Carlo is just greedy.

Thanks for the recap analysis Scarf. I watched the Silva vs Maia fight and I gotta say, it was the most disgraceful display from a title holder I've ever seen in my life. I have lost all respect for Anderson Silva. The taunting was made worse by the fact that Maia was flagrantly outclassed in every aspect of the game. It was nearly impossible to tell what Maia was thinking. It looked as though he didn't even care to even TRY to win the fight until the last round or two when he threw a couple of wild combos that only got him in more trouble. Poor fellow... Still gotta find that BJ fight. Everyone says he just didn't look like he showed up to fight at all....

I'm pulling for my guy Faber in the upcoming WEC event.... Although I don't like his chances. Aldo is such a nasty striker. I think he can pull it off if he gets Aldo to the ground though. Faber's strong as an ox and quick as a fox. My prediction - Third round win for Faber by rear naked choke. At least I can hope, yes?
