Ideology and Culture limit and betray.

Post by WeedGuru_Flow » Mon Aug 15, 2011 11:24 am

I found this very inspiring, and totally in line with my thoughts on the matter :

also :

Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

I like some of the stuff he says but yea, his voice is really grating and he sounds condescending. Doesn't help that his message is somewhat self important and arrogant, he acts like he has all the answers and they're really obvious and no one is getting it.
I personally recommend checking oneself for OCD at least once every 5 minutes.

The music I found...more inspiring than the words.

he basically quoted Socrates in that one with a furthered smug attitude about it... "I know that I am intelligent, because I know that I know nothing." -Socrates

to be honest..overall, I like how he says some of his stuff, but his smugness in his voice along with his lack of actually SAYING anything. We know nothing, so don't listen to anything, because they know nothing.

I loved this one "nobody is smarter than you are, and what if they are? And what good is their understanding doing you?"

ummm, well besides the first two sentences are the biggest contradictions ever, but a persons understanding may enlighten you to see an aspect in a clearer way or even teach you completely new things. THAT'S what they are doing for you.

Well, I think his point is that he wants you to figure it out. You can have other people figure it out for you and help you, but if you don't understand what they're telling you, then you need to try harder to understand. Don't just give up and let them figure it out, because it doesn't help you if you don't understand as well. It's a hard idea to phrase cause I'm confusing myself here...

I get where you are coming from.. he just worded it way too simplified for it to make the sense he wanted it to
