I bought a PS3

Post by Ikku » Mon Dec 26, 2011 12:26 am

Fucking Microsoft 'lost' my gamertag which still had several months subscription already paid for as well as a plethora of downloads. They said this happens sometimes and there's nothing they can do about it. I've already had a 360 break twice, the second time I had to replace the whole machine, so this was just the last straw. I bought a PS3 and hooked it up and my jaw dropped. Man I've been missing out. PS3 is the tits!

I got Uncharted 1-3, Battlefield 3, and MGS4. This should keep me plenty busy for a while, but are there any other games I missed out on?

Resident Evil 5, Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy XIII, Call of Duty MW3, Madden or NCAA football.

Guess it depends what type of games you like.

These guys have pretty spot on scores. I don't have a Playstation 3 myself but I play it through friends and whatnot. I've been playing God Of War 3 lately, fucking dope. If I were to get a new system (PC gamer first and foremost ) it would definitely be PS3. Fuck Microsoft, I'm not dealing with another red ring of death or their greedy business tactics again.
When the going gets weird, the werid turn pro.

PS3 > Xbox 360 by a long shot.

If you looked at any of my old posts about the systems, it was always the exact opposite, but as everyone says, Microsoft rips people the hell off with their insanely shitty systems. They made SOOO much money over some stupid little problem they had that caused the red ring of death.

The layout on the inside of the xbox 360 sucks more than a 30 year old Philippine whore, it's too jammed pack for air flow, the system runs extremely hot, and they added the X clamps which did absolutely nothing besides RESTRICT air flow becoming mainly the number 1 reason why they have the 3ROD

Honestly Xbox remains the better more flexible platform when it comes to consoles, like Sugar I prefer PC simply because it is a more powerful platform that gives you a lot more freedom to choose what you do with it.

But I own both a playstation and an xbox and my PS3 is just sitting at a friends' house gathering dust, why? First of all the entire online thing got butchered, there are no smooth ways to get in touch with people or join games, not as smoothly and effortlessly as on Xbox anyway.

Due to poor choices in system architecture by Sony developing games for the PS3 is far more complex, costly and cumbersome than it is on the Xbox which usually shines through in game quality (Bayonetta on the PS3 was an abomination) .

When it comes to exclusive PS3 titles (God of War, the Uncharted series) they shine, but that's only because one development team was put to the task and they had years and years to hone and polish their games, multiplatform games are always an easy choice for me - Xbox, the PS3 version will be inferior 70% of the time anyway.

But my all time favorite is and always will remain the good ol' Personal Computer, playing Battlefield 3 on my PC is pure graphical porn, I can spend half an hour just wandering around a map looking at how beautiful things look, or camp out on a rooftop to see the battles below me unfold in spectacular detail. None of the consoles will ever attain that level of detail and quality, and the moment they do PC hardware will leap forward setting consoles back again.

This type of discussion can keep on going perpetually as opinions are subjective and vary from person to person, all I can say is that you can't really make any concrete judgments until you've owned both systems, and even then my opinion isn't worth more than someone else's.

I don't see how Xbox is in any way superior to the PS3. I've owned 360's since launch and have had way too many problems with both them and Microsoft to remain a fanboy. I was adamantly against Sony and the PS3 but my experience has proven me wrong there.

I'll agree with the issues at launch, but that was a number of years ago, those issues are long gone, especially with the new slim version.

The online aspect is way more user friendly on Xbox than it is on PS3 and I've been playing a shitload on both PS3 and Xbox, voice communication on Xbox is pretty much standardized so pretty much everyone is capable of using their headsets - please refrain from generic 'nothing but cursing on there' comments because that's exactly the same on PS3- while on the PS3 you have a vast range of different headsets from shitty to awesome (Tritton 720 xp ftw!) but the lack of a standardized headset seems to keep most PS3 owners from actively communicating, which is a loss to me.

So yeah, we pay for online play through Gold memberships but if you search the internet thoroughly you can get it as cheap as 4 dollars a month which is nothing, add to that more stable code, faster and smoother ways of joining up with your friends and a library that still outsizes that of any other console and in my eyes Xbox comes out on top, albeit just, and that's purely personal just like I said in my previous post.

Everybody has arguments and everyone has personal reasons to like or dislike a certain platform but from my own hands-on experience with both consoles - and I have been using both extensively - the Xbox is the more user friendly of the two.

And who the hell buys Battlefield 3 for it's Singleplayer campaign? That's like buying skies to go hiking.
