over here it's getting to be quite cold. tomorrows forecast isn't that bad, with the mercury creeping up towards 8 degrees, but there's gonna be a strong breeze so the wind chill is going to be a real bastard

Sweltering yesterday, mid 30s, too hot for the hound to head out from the house. Today has cooled down...mild high 20s, and this evening is even cooler, perfect for the lengthy, uninterrupted slumber I need. That is, if my mong housemate doesn't wake me up at 4am as she walks in her fucking clogs up and down our wooden floored hallway, 13 times before heading to work, slamming the front door in the process. or her new beau, doesn't leave at 3am, slamming the front door...i am eager to pike them both, persian style.

Chilly now here in Melbourne...It was 34C a few days ago, and now at the same time of evening, it is 13C. Typical Melbourne weather I hear people say, but its the start of Summer. To be fair I like the cold weather, and am happy to pay for a few days of scorching, oppressive heat, with a few days following of chilliness. The routine I had gotten used to involved the heat kinda swelling everything up, humid, hot wind, not much of a drop during the night, and then an explosion of the swelling, the boil of heat lanced and down comes the rain, tropical style, driving everyone into cover!!

Ahh...CTCF, its the best way to learn to ride properly, in my opinion. I used to love taking my cbr600f out into the sussex downs during thunderstorms and torrential downpours. Growing up in the countryside I got used to riding on snow...fell off a few times. nothing particularly nasty. The most worriesome trip was a 100 miles from Brighton to WHitsbale in Kent, via motorway and country roads late at night, in a blizzard....Once I had started I had to keep going, for it was a surprise for mothers day. My mother was pleased but incredibly rageful to see me appear in heavy snow.

I think it is important to hone your skills in awful conditions. It makes riding in fine conditions close to effortless in comparison.

As for the weather, it is 505pm, I am in nothing but my boxer shorts, eating old pie, in preparation for a few vodkas in the garden. the temperature here is 39C and climbing. I feel sorry for my hound.

aye riding in tough weather breeds better bikers, and when its snowing you just keep your feet on the ground, the speedo under 30 (mph) and pray you dont loose momentum on those steep hills....
i do wanna buy a nice enduro for this kind of weather... but the wallet tells me no.
i am on a new, very steep hill, and i am yet to see how the bike fairs with it when it snows or freezes over...

Well since the last update, I've now got about 12" of snow, but today it's freezing rain that is coming down. There's like a 1/4 coating of ice on everything. I just went to take the trash out, slipped on my balcony and fell down 6 cement stairs. My butt is now bruised...

Animal/Nutter,

How cold does it get across the pond in the winter? I couldn't imagine riding my motorcycle anytime from December through February just simply due to the cold weather. Here it gets well below 0 degrees F and our roads are nothing but large piles of snow and compacted ice. I also drive a Harley which might be a little different than the bikes you two drive. Anyway, I'm curious tell me more.
